Drop in to the Winona County History Center for our Museum Makers Class: Vintage Valentines! Create some old-time Valentines for your sweeties. Class leader, Lori Ortega, will provide design ideas and supplies.
Cost is $3 for members and $5 for the public. Register for one or more of the upcoming Vintage Valentine Classes using the registration link above, calling 507-454-2723 ext. 0, or stopping in at the History Center. Pay at the History Center Tickets Desk upon arrival on the class date.
This class is an open-house style, so you are welcome to come anytime during the listed class times, but allow time to make your Valentine. Classes will end promptly at the listed times. Walk-ins are welcome, but those registered will be guaranteed a spot. Open for all ages, but best for those 6 and older. Adults must accompany children.
History:
Exchanging handmade Valentine’s Day cards began in America in the early 1700s. Manufactured cards appeared as early as the 1830s. After this time, the availability of paper and a universal postal system made valentines more accessible.
